Toddler got a nasty respiratory infection. I used the Yoto player I already had for a while, which worked okay, but toddler loved pushing it over to make the light turn off and then he got irritated the room was dark. Words can't describe how disappointed I was. I didn't want an overstimulating night show, so having only color morphing options at night (for the only 3 automatic options they had) ticked me off, because it would be SUPER easy to add just a basic red light. The "warm lava" light can be an automatic feature and you can have a solid green for the morning wakeup. If you are okay with the nightlight being red, then orange, then yellow, cycling back to red again, all night long, then you may absolutely love any of the Hatch Rests. You can't have it scheduled, which to me was the point. Then EVERY night, you have to go into the app, scroll to favorites, and click your chosen color in real time. The only way you can do it is by making solid red a favorite. There is no way to have a solid red light at night automatically. If you want "Red to Bed and Green means Go", this machine is sooo close to being perfect but does not deliver in my opinion. Returned this one too and will never touch another Hatch. PROS: My first one really was a dud because setup on any Hatch should be pretty easy.ĬONS. Can anyone think of an alternative? Thanks in advance! I really don't want to gamble with another Hatch and get a dud again. If it's more on the expensive side, I can justify it because we will literally be using it daily. Need something close to a red and green though. Other colors options are okay but not necessary. If it has an option for sounds, that's fine but a completely neutral thing in my book. I do not want to have to set timers every night. If it had a digital or analog clock.that would be swell, as it would help extend the life of the clock past the little kiddo age. The green light could automatically go off after an hour or so, but I can also manually turn that one off. The red light needs to be able to stay on all night. I don't want it chewing through batteries all night long. Toddler lock (this is what I'm having difficulty finding in other models). A green light for wake time that comes on automatically. A red light for bedtime that comes on automatically. I wanted an "okay to wake up clock" to help him know when it's time to get up.Īfter over 3 hours troubleshooting and talking with customer service, it still won't connect to WiFi and I'm returning it.Īnyone have any suggestions/recommendations regarding an alternative to the Hatch? I bought the Hatch Rest Plus (2nd generation) for my 2.5 year old a couple days ago.
